thrilled to have had the chance to work with Meredith Adelaide who has long been one of my favorite models out there.

I met Ryan several years ago through a film workshop and have gotten to know this kind, gentle, talent of a man. Since then, I’ve seen his talent grow leaps and bounds and the secrets are these… always have a great camera with you. And never stop shooting.

So you had a busy month…
I just had a hilariously awkward exchange on the plane. The guy sitting next to me asked if the camera around my neck was a Leica. I told him it was. He told me he used to shoot film until he upgraded to digital. He then told me how much better digital was. He explained how his new camera would take black and white photos and let you choose which color to keep, so you could choose blue and just have the eyes in color, or choose red and just have a brides bouquet of roses in color. I said “oh”. He said it was saving him tons of time as he used to spend forever in photoshop doing that. I said “oh” again. He assured me it was amazing and got his phone out to show me the many examples. I didn’t say much more other than to tell him he was right, my film cameras definitely can’t do that. Pretty sure we both walked away thinking we had won. :)
I feel like I am at the very beginning of a life long love affair with my Pentax 67ii.

Film|Digital is a new Tumblr I’ve just started which is gear-centric. It takes a personal look at cameras and gear ownership as oppose to just spewing technical jargon on the latest digital camera offerings. I’ll review the cameras I currently own, take a look back at the various cameras I used to own and have a chat with some talented friends to get their thoughts on the gear they use. My hope is to have a different kind of gear review site, one that gives information about cameras, but also insight into the people that use them.
